Summerhaven may be a small mountain village, but the food punches well above its weight. From legendary giant cookies and homemade fudge to hearty mountain chili, hand-pressed burgers and wood-fired pizza — plus multiple options next door such as a coffee shop — here is the complete guide to every place to eat on Mt. Lemmon, with hours, addresses and what to order.
The Best Restaurants on Mt. Lemmon
Iron Door Restaurant DINNER FAVORITE
Hearty alpine-style comfort food at the base of Ski Valley: famous Iron Door Chili with honey-sweet cornbread, the Garth's Gully sandwich (sliced beef, green chiles, cheddar, chipotle mayo on grilled sourdough), and the can't-miss Ski the Lemmon Famous Individual Pie — the Mtn. Berry flavor is the standout. Cozy chalet atmosphere with hummingbird feeders and flowers on the patio.

Grub Stake Café PIZZA & QUICK BITES
Grab-and-go at Ski Valley with a real standout: fresh-baked pizza from a high-heat oven that turns out a piping-hot pie in minutes — a favorite of our own guests. Also snack options, specialty coffee drinks, Italian sodas, hot tea and regular sodas. The indoor and outdoor seating has a special alpine atmosphere, and service is quick.
The Fudge Shop at Ski Valley FUDGE & COFFEE
The Miner's Sweet Tooth has been making homemade fudge at Ski Valley for over 15 years — more than 10 flavors, sold by the quarter-pound or full pound. They also serve coffee, sodas and freshly popped popcorn, making it a perfect stop after the Sky Ride.

Sawmill Run Restaurant BREAKFAST & LUNCH DOG PATIO
Scratch-made mountain fare with generous portions: hand-pressed burgers, smoked brisket, trout, ribs and salads, with a rotating seasonal menu (past specials have included a Louisiana Alligator Burger and Stuffed Monkfish Tail). Beer and wine available, and the dog-friendly patio is a local favorite. Also our recommended caterer for weddings at Mt. Lemmon Hotel.
Mt. Lemmon Cookie Cabin FAMILY FAVORITE
The famous two-story cabin serving Giant Massive Cookies big enough to feed four (try the "Rachel" — oats, coconut and butterscotch chips) plus pizza by the half-slice, full-slice or 16-inch pie with all the classic toppings. Chili, brats and mountain comfort food round out the menu. Perfect post-hike fuel.
Mt. Lemmon General Store & Gift Shop FUDGE & SUPPLIES
The village hub for groceries, camping supplies and the famous homemade fudge in 18+ flavors (Butter Pecan, Chewy Praline, Salted Caramel, Rocky Road and more, plus seasonal Pumpkin Pecan and Peppermint Bark). House-brand coffee, chocolate-covered espresso beans and jarred salsas too. They'll even ship fudge if you can't get enough.
Elevated Espresso NEXT DOOR
A coffee cabin right next door to the hotel in Summerhaven — a local favorite for espresso drinks, coffee and tea. Warm up with a cup on your cabin porch before hitting the trails, or grab one to go.
Beyond Bread Café BREAKFAST & BAKERY
One of Tucson's most beloved bakeries with a mountain outpost serving fresh pastries, coffee, breakfast sandwiches and artisan sandwiches. Great for a quick breakfast before hitting the trails.
Where to Eat: A Quick Decision Guide
Tips for dining on the mountain
Hours change with the seasons — several places close on weekdays in slower months, so call ahead or check Facebook before making a special trip. Weekends and holidays get busy — arrive early for lunch (11:30 AM–1 PM) or be ready to wait at Cookie Cabin and Sawmill Run. Many spots close by 5–6 PM, so if you're arriving late, grab picnic supplies at the General Store or call your dinner spot in advance.
Stay Where the Food Is
