We received our first big snow of the season at Mt. Lemmon Hotel. Most of Summerhaven/Mt. Lemmon received anywhere from 9-12 inches of snow with some drifts as high as 2 feet. At least for modern records, the biggest snowstorm in Mt Lemmon was late February/early March in 1997 with 56 inches of snow. While we love the snow – depending on how much we get, its tough work on our team. The snow removal is a three-part process of using the snow blower, the shovel to scrap what the blower doesn’t get and then finally, sprinkling a pet/environmentally salt over the sidewalks/driveway. January and February are usually our snowiest months of the year with January averaging 16.5 inches and February averaging 20.4 inches of snow per year. If you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas – we do offer gift-cards through our website at www.mtlemmonhotel.com Enjoy the snow pictures!
